Mike recently retired from McDonald’s Corporation, a career spanning 34 years and encompassing positions in Finance, General Management and Executive Management.   He now provides advisory services to upstart enterprises and existing organizations looking to grow. His expertise is strategic planning, organizational development and performance management.

Senior Vice President, Investor Relations Officer

Mike managed the relationships between McDonald’s management and the investment community.  He worked across business functions and engaged with analysts and investors to build clarity and confidence in McDonald’s strategy and achieve a fair valuation for the company’s securities.  Leveraging his broad experience in finance, marketing, procurement, market development, general management, restaurant operations and talent management, Mike was able to provide analysts and investors deeper insights into the company’s performance and help them better assess opportunity and risk.  The credible relationships he built with the investment community earned him the honor of top Investor Relations Officer in the restaurant industry in 2018.

Senior Vice President, Chief Finance and Strategy Officer for McDonald’s International Lead Markets

As CFO of McDonald’s International Lead Markets, Mike helped develop the growth strategies and financial plans for the $21 billion segment.  He was also instrumental in reorganizing global business structures and developing the talent to drive growth.  

Previous positions in Worldwide Development, U.S. Strategy, General Management, Restaurant Operations Management and various financial roles provided him a deep understanding of the economics and dynamics of McDonald’s global franchised system.

Prior to joining McDonald’s, Mike a CPA with Ernst & Whinney in Chicago.  He earned his bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and his CPA from the University of Illinois.

Mike and his wife Kate have three adult children who live and work in Chicago with their spouses.  They also have two young granddaughters.

Spring News 2024

55-year-old Marta has chronic kidney disease related to diabetes and hypertension. She has received hemodialysis a few times a week for the past year but missed a week of dialysis. Short of breath, she went to one of Ecuador’s public health centers outside of the small, coastal town of Quevedo.
